Weekend “Results”

I had to leave the Guild Olympics early because I was going to miss feast at White Hart (I had already missed Court, which didn’t break my heart, even though the king & queen were there and I probably would have gotten to go up and be presented with my A&S competition prize).  Evan came along with me and was a pretty good sport, especially considering that he wasn’t feeling very well.  I didn’t take ANY pictures, even though everyone had lovely things!  I know Judy and Cathy were taking photos, so hopefully I can “steal” some later.  🙂

Our SCA Tournament of the White Hart at Port Oasis Shire:

The Autocrat’s note after White Hart:

Thank you to everyone who made White Hart a smooth and fun event. I enjoyed watching everyone have fun and participate. It all came together and was splendid.

Thank you to Lee and Bruce for cooking. And to Hanna, Ron, Mat, and Juliet for filling in where ever we needed someone, whether it was to serve feast, hang banners, or clean out the cabins; it was wonderful to see such new faces so willing to help. Your service meant a lot to this tired auto-crat. Thank you to Mistress Anne for teaching a very cool class, and to any others that may have gotten the chance to teach others your craft. Congratulations to our own Grace for having won the A & S competition. {my note:  hee hee!  I got the Arts & Sciences gift goodie-basket!  for my display of two skeins of natural handspun–one Coopworth and one Suffolk dyed with turmeric, and, the real thing I’m sure won, a llama/lace handspun mini lace shawl}

I also cannot express how amazing it was to see people outside helping set up. Robert and Fiarchra were kind enough to let us use their pavilions for the ladies gallery shade fly, and for the Scarlet Guard Display. Bataar, Andrew, Jay, & Jacopo all graciously helped them either set up or tear down. Congratulations to Master Robert, our new Yeoman of the White Hart. I know there were countless others that also volunteered their services on the field. Including, from what I understand, many members from Huan Miguel’s house hold, who also helped set up the portable holes for the combat lists.

There were several people that took a turn at troll and let me tell you it was great to be able to get away from that desk for a while!!! Thanks to Dirk and Leann.

Lastly I must say that I appreciate the efforts that the last champions of the white hart put forth, in planning, organizing, and running their tournaments.

Also, congratulations to Lady Annora Draper, Lady Luca De’Cola, Lady Regnalis, Lord Faolin Dubh MacLochlainn for you outstanding achievements within the SCA; I’m proud to count you amongst my friends.
People, eager to lend a hand, and share a laugh are what make the game worth playing. Especially in the presence of a King and Queen who embody what this is all about!!
Great work Shire, I loves you guys !!!
